What is the net worth of 2 Chainz?

2 Chainz is an American hip-hop recording artist with a $12 million net worth. 2 Chainz, formerly known as Tity Boi, has become one of the most popular rappers of the modern era, particularly among southern musicians. Although the rapper is well-known for wearing two chains around his neck, he frequently wears up to seven. In addition to being a rapper, 2 Chainz is an entrepreneur who has engaged in numerous business ventures throughout his career.

2 Chainz is also the host of the popular Viceland television/web series “Most Expensivist,” which chronicled his travels around the world in search of incredibly expensive items.

Early Years

2 Chainz’s real name is Tauheed Epps, and he was born in College Park, Georgia, on September 12, 1977. Despite growing up in a poor neighborhood, Epps worked diligently in high school and graduated second in his class. In his youth, he also played basketball and developed into a talented player. Despite this, Epps displayed a disobedient nature by dealing drugs to his classmates, including marijuana and cocaine. At age 15, he was arrested for possession of cocaine, a felony. During his senior year of high school, Epps began his involvement in music and wrote his first raps with several classmates.

Epps was still a dedicated student and won a scholarship to Alabama State University despite his criminal record. He participated in college basketball before graduating. Later, 2 Chainz denied rumors that he graduated from college with a 4.0 GPA. He also stated that he briefly attended Virginia State University. As a college basketball player, Epps demonstrated potential and amassed impressive statistics.

Early Years in Music

In 1997, Epps adopted the stage name Tity Boi and teamed up with childhood friend Earl Conyers to form the hip-hop duo Playaz Circle. In 2002, Conyers, also known as Dolla Boy, assisted 2 Chainz in the release of his debut independent album, “United We Stand, United We Fall.” The album caught the attention of Atlanta rapper Ludacris, who aided the duo’s rise to fame by promoting their radio play. At the time, Ludacris was living in the same apartment complex and working as a DJ, as he was not yet famous.

Their early relationship with Ludacris proved to be extremely advantageous, as the rapper immediately reconnected with Playaz Circle after achieving phenomenal success. Both 2 Chainz and Dolla Boy signed with his newly established record label, Disturbing Tha Peace. This would prove to be the duo’s launching pad, and in 2007 they released their debut studio album, “Supply & Demand.” The album’s lead single “Duffle Bag Boy,” which featured Lil’ Wayne, became an instant fan favorite. The single was performed by 2 Chainz at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. 2 Chainz pursued a solo career after releasing one more studio album with Playaz Circle and Disturbing Tha Peace.

Solo artist’s epoch-making debut

In 2011, the artist formerly known as Tity Boi changed his name to 2 Chainz because he felt it was more “family-friendly” and appropriate for his forthcoming solo career. His first album as a solo artist was a mixtape titled “T.R.U. REALigion,” which he released immediately. 2 Chainz collaborated with well-known artists such as Kanye West and Nicki Minaj after adopting a new moniker and launching a solo career.

In 2012, 2 Chainz was prepared to release his debut solo studio album. The album was entitled “Based on a T.R.U. Story,” and it featured Drake on the lead single “No Lie.” The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 147,000 copies in its first week of release. Despite receiving mixed reviews, 2 Chainz’s album was a major success by all other measures. The album was nominated for multiple awards, including three Grammys, and he was able to tour internationally to sold-out crowds. Additionally, 2 Chainz won a number of BET Hip Hop Awards for the album and secured lucrative endorsement deals with a variety of brands.

2013 marked the release of 2 Chainz’s second studio album, “B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time.” On the album, Dolla Boy and 2 Chainz collaborated once again, as did Lil’ Wayne, Drake, Fergie, Pharrell Williams, T-Pain, and Rich Home Quan, among many other prominent artists. Although less successful than “Based on a T.R.U Story,” the album received more positive reviews.

In 2016, 2 Chainz and Lil’ Wayne released a collaborative album titled “ColleGrove.” Later that year, he released two additional mixtapes. In 2017, 2 Chainz released “Pretty Girls Like Trap Music,” his fourth studio album. Again, the album featured a variety of collaborations with other artists, and it was extremely well received. Critics stated at the time that it was his best album to date. 2 Chainz released a new studio album titled “Rap Or Go To The League” in 2019.
