Khaled Mohamed Khaled was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 26, 1975, to Palestinian parents who had immigrated to the United States. He has stated that he is a devout Muslim. Khaled first gained prominence in the 1990s as a DJ on Miami’s 99 Jamz hip hop radio station. Khaled was hired as a DJ by the group Terror Squad due to his work at the radio station.
