George Brooksbank, a former Hertfordshire County Cricket Club player, is a British business executive born in 1981. His firms include Fairway Capital and Leconfield Property Group, of which he is the founder and current CEO.
George Brooksbank is Princess Eugenie’s father-in-law. Princess Eugenie is grieving the loss of her father-in-law, who died only days before her son August’s royal baptism.
Eugenie’s three-year-husband Jack Brooksbank’s father, George Brooksbank, died last week, according to the PA. George, 72, has “been unwell for several months” after fighting the coronavirus last year, according to the publication.
According to The Telegraph, the Brooksbank family was told multiple times to “prepare for the worst” when he was in the hospital with COVID-19 after a holiday to France. He was in the hospital for nine weeks, including five weeks on a ventilator.
George’s health improved after a tracheotomy, and he owed his recovery to the specialists at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London and the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Brookbank grew up in London, England, and went to Cheltenham College.
He has a master’s degree in property valuation and law from Cass Business School.
