James Thurston Nabors was born on June 12, 1930, and died at the age of 87 on November 30, 2017. He was an actor, singer, and comedian best remembered for his portrayal as Gomer Pyle.
As a result of his asthma, Nabor relocated to Los Angeles and resumed his career as a film cutter, this time for NBC. He also worked at The Horn, a restaurant in Santa Monica, where he sang and acted in cabaret theater.
