Jim Norton is an American comedian, radio personality, actor, and author with a net worth of $3 million. Jim Norton first gained national recognition as the third mike comedian on the now-defunct radio programme “Opie & Anthony” Today, he co-hosts the SiriusXM radio programme “Jim Norton & Sam Roberts” He has also published a number of DVDs and specials as a stand-up comedian. Jim is the author of two books, the first of which debuted at number seven on the list of best-selling books. His second book debuted at number thirteen on the best-seller list.


Jim is renowned for adopting numerous personalities who subsequently host their own podcasts. The most notable character is Chip Chipperson. Since 2017, Jim has hosted “The Chip Chipperson Podacast” through Chip (“podacast” is purposely misspelled).


In addition, he co-hosts the podcast “UFC Unfiltered” with former MMA fighter Matt Serra.


Early Years

James Joseph Norton Jr. was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on July 19, 1968. His father was a truck driver for the United States Postal Service, and his mother was a librarian. His sister’s name is Tracy.


Jim had a somewhat rough upbringing. He began drinking heavily at age 13 and dropped out of high school as a senior. Following an unsuccessful suicide attempt, he underwent rehabilitation. After three years of abstinence, Jim obtained his GED (he has been sober ever since). He then enrolled at Middlesex County College to study law with the intention of becoming an attorney. He dropped out after only one month.


Jim then began working as a forklift operator.


In April 1990, he began performing stand-up comedy at open mics. Since the age of 12, he desired to be a stand-up comedian.


Prominent Profession

In 1997, Jim appeared on an episode of Louie Anderson’s “The Louie Show” Andrew “Dice” Clay witnessed the performance and became an immediate admirer. Jim and Andrew met shortly thereafter at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Andrew invited Jim to tour with him as his opening act. They worked together for three years.

Radio Profession

Jim was introduced to the popular radio programme “Opie & Anthony” by Dice in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Jim got along well with the hosts, Anthony Cumia and Greg “Opie” Hughes. By the year 2000, Jim was a frequent guest on the programme. In the same year, Jim and fellow comic Lewis Black were jailed in connection with one of the show’s infamous public antics.


In 2001, he was officially appointed as the permanent third microphone for Opie & Anthony. After a two-year absence following yet another dramatic public stunt, he maintained his position when the show moved to XM in 2004.


Even after main host Anthony Cumia was sacked, Jim remained with the programme, eventually transforming it into “Opie with Jim Norton” In 2016, he began co-hosting the Jim & Sam show alongside Sam Roberts.


Other Works

Jim has released four stand-up albums and eight official DVDs/Specials as of this writing. His Netflix specials “A Mouthful of Shame” in 2017 and “The Degenerates: Jim Norton.” in 2019 earned overwhelmingly good reviews.


He co-starred in the HBO sitcom “Lucky Louie” and the FX comedy “Louie” He appeared multiple times as himself on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”


From 2016 to 2017, he portrayed Father Callahan on the television series “Power” Jim has appeared in a variety of films, including “Spider-Man” in 2002, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” in 2008, “Trainwreck” in 2015, and “The Comedian” in 2016. He also appears in multiple episodes of “Inside Amy Schumer”


In 2019, he portrayed Don Rickles in “The Irishman.” by Martin Scorsese. Robert De Niro, his co-star, personally invited him to play the role.


Private Life

Jim has been a lifelong fan of KISS, Black Sabbath, and Ozzy Osbourne in general. He became close friends with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne as an adult.
