Anthony Kapel “Van” Jones is a news and politics journalist, author, and lawyer from the United States.
Jones is a three-time New York Times bestselling author, CNN broadcaster and pundit, Emmy Award winner, and co-founder of several non-profit organizations.
Jones was a distinguished visiting fellow at Princeton University and served as Special Advisor on Green Jobs to President Barack Obama in 2009.
Jones established or co-founded a number of non-profit organizations, including the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change, and the Dream Corps.
The Dream Corps, a social justice accelerator, runs three advocacy programs: Dream Corps Justice, Dream Corps Tech, and Green for All.
Jones and his ex-wife have two sons, Mattai and Cabral.
Wangari Maathai, a Kenyan activist who founded the Green Belt Movement to promote tree planting, environmental conservation, and women’s rights, inspired the name Mattai.
