Meet Mattai Jones and Cabral Jones, two of Van Jones’ children.

Anthony Kapel “Van” Jones is a news and politics journalist, author, and lawyer from the United States.

Jones is a three-time New York Times bestselling author, CNN broadcaster and pundit, Emmy Award winner, and co-founder of several non-profit organizations.

Jones was a distinguished visiting fellow at Princeton University and served as Special Advisor on Green Jobs to President Barack Obama in 2009.

Jones established or co-founded a number of non-profit organizations, including the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change, and the Dream Corps.

The Dream Corps, a social justice accelerator, runs three advocacy programs: Dream Corps Justice, Dream Corps Tech, and Green for All.

Jones and his ex-wife have two sons, Mattai and Cabral.

Wangari Maathai, a Kenyan activist who founded the Green Belt Movement to promote tree planting, environmental conservation, and women’s rights, inspired the name Mattai.

In general, he keeps his children’s personal information private and tries to keep them out of the public eye as much as possible.
