Meet the Cast of ‘Life Below Zero’


Life Below Zero is a documentary television series that follows subsistence hunters as they go about their daily and seasonal routines in isolated locations of Alaska. The show is produced by BBC Worldwide and is shown on National Geographic.


The show chronicles the lives of individuals living in rural places of Alaska, surviving off the land, earning money through various activities, and overcoming the numerous obstacles that come with living so remote in such a harsh climate.


The primary cast is listed below;


Aikens Sue

On July 1, 1963, she was born. Sue is the solitary occupant of the Kavik River camp in Alaska’s far north.


Agnes and Chip Hailstone

They live on the Kobuk River near Noorvik, 19 miles north of the Arctic Circle, with their seven children.


Villeneuve Glenn

He resides alone in Chandalar, Alaska, approximately 200 miles north of Fairbanks and 65 miles north of the Arctic Circle. He is joined later in life by his wife and children.


Holmes Jessie

He relocated to Alaska with his wife Kate Bassich from Washington, D.C. In 2016, Andy and Kate divorced. Denise, Andy’s girlfriend, has now relocated to his homestead.


Salitan Erik and Martha May

A young couple experienced in outdoor life who reside in Wiseman, Alaska, 67 miles north of the Arctic Circle.


DeWilde Ricko

An Athabaskan from Alaska who relocates to his family’s isolated abandoned cottage in Huslia. Later on, he brings his little children to teach them about subsistence life.


Rolfe Johnny

She had worked at a three-Michelin-star restaurant in Chicago before making the move, and TV Insider has an exclusive first look at the new trailer.

Which Life Below Zero cast member perished?

Gary Muehlberger, star of the National Geographic Channel’s Life Below Zero: Port Protection, perished in a home fire, according to reports. He was 75 years old. Gary’s house at Port Protection on Alaska’s Prince of Wales Island, which was frequently shown on the show, was destroyed in a March 17 fire.
