Mavin J. Chomsky was an American director and producer of television and movies.

 

Mavin Chomsky was born in New York City and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1950 from Syracuse University.

 

Mavin Chomsky was also a cousin of Noam Chomsky, an American linguist.

 

Mavin Chomsky began his career in the film and television industries as an art director, set decorator, and producer.

Mavin Chomsky, in addition to directing individual episodes for television shows, directed made-for-television films such as Brinks: The Great Robbery (1976), Victory at Entebbe (1976), Attica (1980), and Billionaire Boys Club (1980). (1987).

 

Mavin Chomsky also directed Vanessa Redgrave in the 1982 television film My Body, My Child, the 1989 miniseries Brotherhood of the Rose starring Robert Mitchum, Peter Strauss, and David Morse, and the 1995 television film Catherine the Great.

 

Mavin Chomsky died peacefully on March 28, 2022, in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 92.
