Police bursts armed robbery syndicate in Jigawa

Police in Jigawa State have burst a syndicate of armed robbers who have been terrorising Dutse, the state capital.

Police Spokesman, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam disclosed this in a statement issued to DAILY POST.

He said the hoodlums were arrested on Friday in Dutse local Government area.

According to him, the gang of criminals trespassed into a House armed with sticks, machetes, covering their faces with mask and demanded for money, threatening to kill the owners of the house.

“They, however, collected two of his handsets, bag of Rice, plasma TV and a red box containing woman wrappers”. He said.

Adam explained that immediately after police received the report, they swung into action and based on intelligence succeeded in arresting a 20-year-old Ahmed Abubakar, a 100 level student of Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse.

He Said during interrogation, the suspect mentioned six of his accomplices including Sani Mustapha,Mohammed Sani, Dan Fulani, Alhaji, Zini and Black.

He added that police also succeeded in arresting two of the suspects while the remaining four are now at large.

The Police spokesman said the suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged to court after investigation.
