The Game was born on November 29, 1979 in Los Angeles, California as Jayceon Terrell Taylor. The Game was raised in a notoriously dangerous area ruled by the street gang known as The Crips. The Game, on the other hand, swore allegiance to a rival gang called “The Bloods.” The Game turned to music during his troubled teenage years and signed his first recording contract with 50 Cent’s G-Unit record label in 2003.


Soon after, he also established his own record label, Black Wall Street Records. 2005’s debut album from The Game, The Documentary, was a smashing success. The album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, and its single “Hate It or Love It” received two Grammy nominations. The Game has risen to prominence in the rap community and is credited with being a driving force in his efforts to revive West Coast hip-hop and restore its mainstream status.
