William Lancelot Bowles III is the son of Phylicia Rashad and William Lancelot Bowles Jr. William Lancelot Bowles III is most commonly referred to as Billy Bowles.
Phylicia Rashad, Billy Bowles’ mother, is a stage director, singer, and actor. She is well recognized for her portrayal of Clair Huxtable on NBC’s The Cosby Show. She married her spouse in 1972 and they divorced in 1975. She then married Victor William, a relationship that lasted barely five years.
Her third marriage occurred in 1981, when she became engaged to Ahmad Rashad, and lasted six years as well. In 2001, the couples divorced. She was nominated for and won “The BET Honors” in 2015. In 2019 and 2020, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, but was not selected.
Phylicia Rashad has received honorary doctorates from Brown University and Spelman College in recognition of her lifelong contributions to the arts. She is worth $55 million.
