John Madden is a former football coach and sportscaster from the United States of America. As head coach of the Oakland Raiders, he won Super Bowl XI over the Minnesota Vikings.

John Madden became a well-known color commentator for National Football League telecasts following his retirement from coaching. He was born in Austin, Minnesota, on April 10, 1936.

 

In acknowledgment of his coaching career, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.

“Last night, I spoke with John,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated. “He sounds fantastic, but is irritated at the prospect of being placed on injured reserve for the time being. He is eager to return to action and perform the critical task he does for our game.
