In 2018, rapper DaBaby’s normal trip to Walmart became scary.
According to the American rapper, he was out shopping for winter clothes for his child with his child’s mother, their newborn, and her 5-year-old child when they were approached by two individuals brandishing a pistol.
Near the conclusion of the struggle, DaBaby shot and killed one of the boys, 19-year-old Jalyn Domonique Craig.
The scene immediately following the Walmart shooting in Huntersville, North Carolina in 2018; DaBaby was charged with murder following the event.
Following the encounter, DaBaby released a video on Instagram in which he stated, in part, “F*****’ attorneys telling me not to say stuff and s***, f*** all that. Two ****** descend on you and your entire m********** family, threaten you, whip you, *****, let me see what y’all gon’ do. “Are you feeling me?”
However, it looks as though he followed his attorney’s instructions and made no further comments about the event following that video.
He was charged with concealing a pistol and sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.
Due to the fact that DaBaby was never prosecuted, it is assumed, though not publicly stated, that Craig’s killing was justified in self-defense.
