Richard Moore was a writer, author, podcaster, and former competitive cyclist from Scotland.
He competed for the United Kingdom in the Tour of Langkawi and for Scotland in the PruTour and 1998 Commonwealth Games.
Moore’s first book was on cyclist Robert Millar, and his book In Search of Robert Miller won the 2008 British Sports Book Awards for best biography. Additionally, he authored works about Chris Hoy, Team Sky, and the Tour de France.
He will be most known for his work at The Cycling Podcast, which he co-founded with fellow journalists Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe in 2013.
The group went on to create the sport’s most-listened-to podcast, which has been broadcasting weekly for the last decade.
They also provide daily podcasts and paid-for material in addition to the three Grand Tours.
The program has earned several accolades and nominations, including the 2016 Cycling Media Awards for best podcast.
Moore has written for Rouleur Magazine, Scotland on Sunday, The Herald, The Sunday Herald, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, and The Scotsman, among other publications.
He died on March 28, 2022.
